South Africa - athlete Oscar Pistorius, pleaded not guilty to charges of killing his girlfriend, in the opening session in Pretoria.
Olympic and Paralympic runner was accused of intentionally killing a television star and model, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day last year.
Alet-legged 27-year-old fake says Steenkamp shot accidentally because expecting a home burglary.
"I approached the bathroom to carry firearms to defend Reeva," Pistorius said in court today (Monday, 03/03).
Wearing a dark shirt and facing the judges with her arms crossed, Pistorius also pleaded not guilty to three counts of possession of a weapon.
Meanwhile, a neighbor who sat as a witness, Michelle Burger, said he woke up because there was a 'terrible scream' on February 14, 2013 early morning.
According to Burger, the woman's screams followed by a request for help.
"Then I heard a man ask for help. Three times he called out for help," said Burger.
Burger said he called security and then heard four shots.
Catching this national sporting hero had appalling South Africa. Pistorius get the gold medal at the 2012 London Paralympics as well jump in the Olympics.
